It wasn’t the ride that was hard, it was the length of it. We finished 70 miles yesterday. Thats a record high for myself and many others on the cycle team.

Last saturday, and I’m still alive. Barely made it on the Calaveras ride, it was very scenic and beautiful, but there are parts of my body that hurt still. They say if you can make the Calaveras ride, you can make the Tahoe ride. So I am on my way to being prepared.
We rode 45 miles last Saturday. Seems like we covered all of Silicon Valley…
Yesterday evening, March 10, 2009, we did “hill training”. We pick a hill, and ride up and down it, 3 times. At least I didn’t have to walk this time.
We rode 40 miles on Saturday, March 7, 2009. Thanks to excellent team support, I survived. I only had to walk a short distance up mount Eden.

Pacelining:
Done properly, pace-lining (or “drafting”) can increase a rider’s efficiency by up to 30%. This makes a big difference when you are getting close to the end of the bike ride.
